Was sind die Fälle – What are cases?

 

Fälle sind Sets von Formen, die eine Nominalgruppe annehmen kann. Präpositionen oder Verben (manchmal auch Adjektive oder Nomen ausserhalb der Nominalgruppe) bestimmen den Fall einer Nominalgruppe. In der Tabelle unten ist das Wort, das den Fall der Nominalgruppe „Fussball“ bestimmt, fett markiert.
Cases are sets of possible forms for noun groups. Prepositions or verbs (and sometimes adjectives and nouns outside the noun group) determine the case of a noun group. In the chart below, the word determining the case of the noun group “Fussball” is indicated in bold.
